Interactive Web Pages

I use a program called Hot Potatoes to produce interactive web pages for use by students at my school. The problem I am having on my home computer, but not my school computer is saving and displaying images taken from the web.

Whe I try to save images from the web in either JPEG or GIF format, my computer will only save them in Bitmap format, where as my school computer is happy to save in the original format. Both computers are XP, mine, Home Edition, the school Pro. I therefore have to use paint to convert all the Bitmap images to GIF before inserting them into my web page. The other problem happens when I view my web page at home, where I get a white rectangle with no image visible and the dreaded red cross in the corner. Are there some changes I can make to my settings to correct this?

Many thanks once again for coming to my rescue, it seems to be coming a regular occurence! I followed both your links, and the instructions therein, and everything is working perfectly again.
