I have installed intel matrix storage driver using the F6 floppy install before the installation of windows xp onto my HDD. After windows xp installation, I installed intel matrix storage manager. It shows all the information such as NCQ enabled or not, SATA transfer mode, etc.
But, to my surprise, after a period, that programme shows the "current serial ATA transfer mode as "genration 1" which means 150Mbytes/s. But my SATA HDD is a SATA 2 with transfer rate of 300MBytes/s and I am sure my motherboard (Asus P5LD2) supports SATA 3.0Gb/s. I have not restricted my drive to go on 150MBytes/s. No jumper is inserted.
So, is this normal? I mean, why doesn't it show as generation 2? Can I or not maually set my HDD's data transfer rate? How can I fix this problem so that it shows correctly the transfer rate of my HDD? What kind of software can I use to exactly detect the daa transfer mode of my HDD?
Thanks to all!
