Installing XP over Win 98

  nedrick 18:18 20 Mar 2004

I am trying to install Windows XP on another machine which already has Windows 98 installed.

The installation process is asking me about a partition that appears to be my whole disk.

Should I;
b)Delete partition
c)Anything else?

Thank you.

Assuming that you do not want to run 98 as well and you have saved all your info, delete the partition.

continue to install on the partion that has 98 on it if you wont to overwrite 98.It may be better to format the drive and just install xp you will need the full 98 cd as it asks for proof you are eligable to upgrade unless you have the full xp cd in that case it shouldnt matter.Dont think it will ask if you wont to format the drive to NTFS file system as u upgrading but it may do on a clean install.
