Installing XP (Home Ed) OEM on a PC that has ME

I've just dragged my old MESH PC out of the loft and am setting it up for my daughter. It has ME on it and many educational software packages don't function on ME so have bought and OEM version of HOME and want to use that instead. WHAT do I do? I've searched on the forum and couldn't quite find a full explanation from that. Apologies if it's here somewhere and I've missed it. Any help - appreciated.

PC SPEC: 1.1GHz Processor (AMD Athlon)
40Gb HDD
Chipset - ASUSTeK A7V.

btw, legally you can only install an OEM copy of windows on a brand new computer that has no previous O/S

Thanks VoG and Thalmus. Understood. Will rethink matters.

I don't want to disappoint you, but the specifications for your machine mean it would run very slowly under XP.

I assume you have all the CD's for your educational programs, so if you want to continue, you must perform a clean install.i.e. Completly format your machine, including any hidden partitions, and start from there.
