installing windows 98se

I recently formatted a pc for my brother, after finishing this i restarted the machine and put in the boot disk. Everthing was going fine until it asked for the windows cd, i put the cd in and typed start, nothing happened, i then typed in setup but the same thing nothing, i have tried and tried but i can't get this machine to setup win 98 on it, any help would be appreciated. cheeres

Is it a genuine MS cd or a micky mouse (recovery)cd?

If it's a proper Win98 cd, nurn nearly got it correct.

Insert the Floppy, choose "Start with CD-ROM support". Insert your Windows CD. Your CD-ROM drive will probably have moved down one letter (if it was D, it will now be E) type:


That should get it going for you, shy_guy69.
