Installing Vista over Windows 7

Hi Guys,
I have windows 7 installed on my desktop pc,however i want to intall ms Vista on it without seeing windows old on it afterwards since it may take space.How do i do it?
secondly my hard drive is partitioned into two,can i install it without shrink first?

Just install Vista from your CD it will format the drive, and Vista does not support Windows Old. However you can simply delete windows old.

To get a clean install you must format the partition using the Vista DVD

See steps 13 and 14 here.

You leave the partiton size intact if that is what you wish.

I have my laptop running Vista and I find Henry2 you wish to renstall Vista when everyone I talk to tells me how good windows 7 is and how crap Vista is.I would appreciate your reasons before I buy Windows 7.Is it a program or Hardware compatibility problem. Hope you reply.
