Installing Vista

I am trying to install Vista onto a new hard drive, but when i try it keeps saying
" Disk Boot Failure. Insert System Disk and Press Enter". I have a Vista dvd, the hard drive is working ok, the BIOS is set to boot from disk. I have used the Vista disc, so i know its not a problem with the disc. Any ideas what the problem could be?

Are you getting this message when booting from the Vista DVD or after Vista has been installed.

If its when booting from the DVD, I think you get a message to press any key to boot from the DVD. If you don't press a key it will bypass the DVD and try and boot from the hard drive.

I have tried pressing and not pressing any keys, but no matter it still says " Disk Boot Failure. Insert System Disk and Press Enter ".

I am booting from the DVD as the hard drive is completely empty, but every time is always says,

verifying dmi pool data.....
Boot from CD..
Disk Boot Failure. Insert System Disk and Press Enter.

The hard drive has been re-formatted and just shows as "unallocated" when connected and opened in My Computer/disc management
