Installing SP2

I am still a bit nervous about installing SP2.
If I make a Ghost image of my present setup, on my other HD, and I do have a problem with SP2, can I reinstall from the Ghost safely,
All that I have connected is a Printer and BB Modem.

Yes you can Ghost it back to how it was before you installed SP2 or you can just go to control panel/add remove programs and remove it from there.

If your system is running without problems then you should have no worries about installing SP2 - ensure you create a System Restore point before commencing.

However, if you already have a firewall such as ZoneAlarm this is superior to the Windows version, which should be disabled after SP2 is installed.

I've installed SP2 several times for various reasons on my system (new mobo, two XP repairs in 18 months) as well as on friend and family systems, whilst my son (IT support specialist) has literally done hundreds, and all without any setbacks.

Problems in installing SP2 are invariably a sign of something amiss with your Windows setup.

If you do have problems, rather than removing or otherwise getting SP2 out of the system, seriously think about doing a clean install of the whole operating system. Save all important personal data before you do this, of course.

I have just upgraded to SP2 on both of our PC's,
it went very smoothly and I am very relieved, thanks a lot to you all.
