Installation problem

I am trying to re-install some games on my computer that were previouly installed in Win 98SE.
When I insert the CD I get the following message:
" D:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\AUTOEXEC.NT"
The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and MS Windows applications. I have an option of selecting a close button or an ignore one, either way I can't install the program.
Any ideas please?

Return to 98se,either removing XP or creating a dual boot with 98se.You need a FAT32 partition/proper DOS,I suspect your hdd is presently NTFS.Does the same thing occur if you use the Compatability modes included with XP?

Bump
Thanks Chegs, I have a dual boot with 98 SE and my HDD are partitioned with the 98 partition and one other being Fat 32. The XP partition is NTFS, should I be installing the games in Win 98SE?
