'Installation Failed' everytime. But It HASN'T!

Each time I reach the desktop, after rebooting, Windows informs me that the installation of my Canon printer has failed. It just gives me the option to click 'Finish'.

If I switch the printer off and on, the same message appears.

Does anyone know a way to convince Windows XP that my printer is working perfectly and to stop this incorrect error message?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Have you loaded the software...if so reload it.

I uninstalled and reinstalled but the printer was switched ON.

I found out that I needed to turn it off and disconnect it BEFORE I reinstalled the software.

This stops the Windows system from detecting it over and over, everytime it was used.

I have now cured the problem.
