Have you been using compatible inks, i.e not Epson branded inks?

  rodgeyrog 09:28 04 Jan 2008

yes but i've never had this problem before been using compatables in my cx 6600 for years

Could it be the waste ink tank is full?

  rodgeyrog 09:36 04 Jan 2008

no it's a fairly new printer and hasn't done that much work yet

The reason I had asked about compatible inks was that I knew someone who had problems with there Epson printer flooding ink on to the paper and although it could have been a coincidence, there problem had only started shortly after starting to use compatible inks, where previously they had been using Epson branded ones for a good long time.

Personally, I have had far too many problems with printers and I blame using compatible inks, I only use the original manufacturers ones now and as such I have not had any problems since doing so.

I've always used compatable inks from ukdvdr and never had any problems it only seems to have started since using a ciss cont ink system

I have always used compatibles in my Epson R265, have never had any problems. I would certainly suspect that your problem is due to the CISS system.

  Technotiger 10:08 04 Jan 2008

PS - ringing up Epson will probably not help, because you are using Compatibles!

It's a risk you have to take, using compatible inks invalidates any warranty with Epson. Using CISS most certainly invalidates the warranty as you have modified the mechanism of the printer as well as using non-standard ink.
