I have just moved over to bt broadband, and my neighbours say they are picking up two bt services ,and i take it that one of them is mine. Although they are seeing the connection to my hub,can they access it as i thought that Bt has a block on outside use from my Hub when i installed it.

Your router should only be accessible by inputting the router code (password) but the router CAN utilize a small part of your BB for "Free Hot Spot" connections - you can also utilize this feature when travelling.

If you have a wireless router, and i assume that the BT Hub is,then they will pick up your network. You are running an AV and Firewall i hope?

They will see it, but will be unable to access it without the security code provided by BT.

I do have an AV and a Firewall, but i wasn't sure that anyone could get into the bt hub without a password although they could pick up that a connection was nearby . Thank you all for replying
