infected security programes

I got a message telling me my computer was infected and it wanted me to buy security suite. i tried to close it but it sits on my taskbar. i did full scan with Avast - nothing found. message still there. Tried to run S/A.spyware & MB antimalware - niether will run - infected
pop up shows sf.bin and mbam.exe as infected
any suggestions, please!

Use the bleeping computers site to remove this little bugger. I had this virus last week and the kind folkes on here helped me out.

if you print off the guidance on how to remove it is pretty straight forward. It took me about 3 hours due tot he fact my AV was running pretty slow in safe mode.

God, i'm aving a bad day. can't get into safe mode tapping f8 and i can't find my xp pro disc AAAARRGGHH!

What make and model is your pc, desktop, laptop etc?
Just wondering whether you have an F lock key that needs pressing before the F8 key and also whether the keyboard is USB or PS2.

Doesn't sound like in normal boot mode you can access msconfig boot.ini tab and select safeboot and network and then restart the pc?
