Incoming E-Mail problem

When I try to access my E-Mails I get the following message after it has been scanned with AVG
The server responded with an error. Account: 'mail.tesco.net', Server: 'mail.tesco.net', Protocol: POP3, Server Response: '-ERR AVG POP3 Proxy Server: Cannot connect to the mail server!', Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800CCC90

The AVG scan ends with ntl. Is there a message from someone sending through AVG or is this a virus.
How can I receive my E-Mails and clear this error panel Thanks in advance Carper

NTL appear to be having email problems at the moment. Evidently Tesco are using the ntl servers. I use Mozilla email and tried a check earlier on. Mozilla reported it couldn't access the POP3 server
(which is ntl's). Here in Gtr Manchester but others appear to be having problems. Leave it for awhile until a repair is effected.
