I have recently changed my computer and am running a Hewlett OPackard Pavilion A219. It came just as base unit and keyboard as I already had speakers and a monitor. It's running Windows XP but I find that the available volume on the speakers is barely adequate. The volume control is flat out and, although the output varies with the sound source, it really needs enhancing. Is there anyway I can increase the volume? (Keep it simple please - I'm not an expert!).

Check (the obvious- sorry) that the speaker volume control is up to an adequate level.

Try the lastest drivers for your soundcard. click here for Aida32 which will ID the card for you.

I've bumped this up again as I have found that Aida32 has closed. The problem is a difference between PC sounds and playing radio programmes mainly off the BBC site. With the volume control flat out they are simply not loud enough - this was not a problem with my old computer.
