I an icon, which is best described as 2 small TVs with a cross through it, has mysteriousley appeared on the bar at the bottom right hand side of my screen. When activated it reads "Local Area Connection Network Cable unplugged NVDIA n Force MCP Networkin". Have you any idea what this is and should I activate it or what. This is the only PC I have.

Control Panel, Network Connections. Delete any you are not using.

just ignore it. I've tried to delete same on a friend's computer as it worried him but it tends to re-appear. It refers to networking between computers, which you obviously are not using, but it won't do anything and if it won't delete, or returns after deletion just ignore it.

control pannel/network connections rght click on ones not in use select properties and untick show icon in the notification bar.

it will no longer be shown in the taskbar.
