Import Address Book

  Graham. 17:20 06 Apr 2007

I am trying to Import the Address Book on my Desktop to my networked Laptop. Both use Outlook Express. So far without success. Am I missing the obvious here?

Hi, I assume you are trying it through Tools>Import/Export as appropriate in OE?

  Graham. 17:35 06 Apr 2007

No, Files.

It goes through the motions, but nothing added to the Laptop's Address Book.

Export the address book as a .csv file, stick it on a floppy or CD and import it that way.

or even a USB pen drive........

Hmmm, sorry I have Tools 'on-the-brain', I had meant to say Files ... Doh!

  Technotiger 18:02 06 Apr 2007

Maybe silly, but did you go to File>Import on the laptop ...

  Technotiger 18:04 06 Apr 2007

or - try MAJ's way.

Yes, I've tried both ways. I assumed this would be a doddle over a network.

Forget about the network for a moment, Graham. What happens when you, in Outlook Express, go to File > Export > Address book, Choose (click on) the "Text File (Comma Separated Values)" option, click on the 'Export' option. Follow the CSV export wizard, giving the file a name and a location (usually in My Documents), choosing which fields you want to export and click the 'Finish' button?

Do you at least get as far as that part?
