Images With No Background

  slat 20:56 08 May 2005

Anyone know of how to create or alter images that would have no backgrounds . Can do gifs for web, but not any other format that can be used for leaflet artwork etc. ie eps, tiff. Have got photoshop 6, corel graphics suite 12 & paint shop pro 7 for PC.

Thanks for any help, know its not actually web stuff but lost.

In Paintshop Pro use File, Export, Gif Optimiser, then follow the dialogue to save with a transparent background. This works best with images that have a solid background in a colour that doesn't appear elswhere in the image then you choose that colour to be transparent.

Only .gif and .png support transparent backgrounds.

Thanks Eric10, much appreciated. Have also found that using Corel Photo Paint you can mask image create object and save as cpt file. Then when imported into corel draw you can ungroup objects and delete background to leave you with the image mask. Web link as follows: click here
