'Image' my C drive so I can 'forget' XP install CD

Hi,

I have just performed a destructive re-build of my PC. (I had partition issues) Now that my PC is all clean and simple I would like to create a disc that will 'image' the basic instalation I have built now.

The build is 4.2gb and will easily fit onto a DVD (I may expand it to more than 5gb and use a DVD-9). Either way I want to end up with a DVD that will boot and then 'restore' (unattended would be nice) the OS and other programs that I require as my basic build.

Is there a freeware program, if not a modestly priced one around £50.00?

If you read or reply,
Thank you.

Acronis regularly appears as a freebie on computer magazines... It's an excellent programme.

This link, and a brain will lead you to a free download

One shiny new disk that takes the hassle and the hours out of re-building.

Thanks for the info matey-peeps!
