my mobo manual doesnt say anything about an agp slot and id like a better graphics card as the graphics are onboard
if there is no agp slot is it worth upgrading the graphics as the pci slots will be much slower

any help gratefuly received

Best thing to do is have a quick look the AGP slot is the brown one above the PCI slots.

all there is above the pci slots is a large heatsink type thing, screwed into the mobo. about the same size as a cpu. but it wont unscrew

Looks as if you will have to go for a PCI graphics card I believe the ATI 9100 is a good choice, after using only on board Graphics you should see a considerable difference remember that you will have to disable the onboard graphics.

is the disable thing in the bios set up or a jumper thing in the mobo

I would check the bios first not sure here.
