A tower only, which one would it be?
Surfing, video conversion and quiet are the prerequisites. No os either

For 250 squids will have to be second hand; with all the risks it entails. Otherwise - none.

No good without an operating system.
Not unless of course it so happened you had a spare one lying about.
I think you should have put this in Speakers corner and not in the Helproom.

No good without an operating system.? why linux free? why speakers corner..i need help spending 250 sheets its not a debate.

Great for the price, really impressed. You'll have to email ebuyer about the decibells it produces.
PSU low output if you ever think of upgrading and video conversions will be on the slow side.

rdave13,thankyou,my current pc is 8yrs old so should be quieter, and video conversions arent too bad.so hopefully better thanks.Worth a punt ya think?

For the cash you can afford then yes. If you can afford another hundred squids I'd go for the more expensive. Ram is enough for Vista and Win 7, just about, but OK for XP.
Remember that if you have a retail version of XP and try to install it in a modern desktop then the mobo drivers, supplied with the tower, might not be compatible. Another reason to e-mail ebuyer.
Good hunting.
