with office 97 being a very old product, is it vunerable to security risks as there are no patches available for this obsolete version ?
As I answered in your previous thread Office is a security risk but imo that risk for a home user is small.I think that OpenOffice, which is free, is better than Office 97.
office 97 being a very old product, is it vunerable to security risks. No, as long as you have the updates installed. We still use office 97 on a lot of PCs at work and some information is commercially confidential.Later versions are no more or less secure just have more whistles and bells which the majority of us do'nt need.
Hello M8t Fruit Bat /\0/\ where can I get any updates for Office 97 as windows updates didn't offer any, is there a place for manual downloads?Woolwell I didn't quite understand what you said before and thought I misslead everyone as I name the incorrect office package.
Thank U yet again and greatfully appreciated for the link!:-)
Would these updates be safe to install on a Vista operating system even though they were dated 1998/99 ? any problems you think ?
