IE8 now down to 4 seconds for new tabs

  sunnystaines 14:31 26 Mar 2009

was taking 13 seconds to open a new tab [32 bit vista] in ie8 been disabling the add ons via the tools menu one by one.

messing around disabling smartscreen helped re links.

java, norton, onenote, spybot, adobe, ie7pro all no difference the offending article was "speedbit" that speeds up downloading video clips a real handy bit of free software I will have to go without it now till an update fix.

its not instant tabs like firefox but i can live with 4 seconds.

I don't understand that, I'm still on the pre-release version and tabs open instantly. I have not disabled anything. There must be some other underlying cause.

thanks for that, my quest will continue to get instant tabs might have to delete the software rather than disable. Will look at the companies other software "DAP" too.

Never mind the tabs, it takes ages for IE8 (Final version) just to open...:-)

Even then I can get a Program Not Responding message and have to close it down again.

Thankfully I use Firefox for 98 per cent of my surfing and IE8 may find itself kicked firmly into touch.

Further tabs open instantly..Have just opened which open as quick as I select the page from my Favourites list. Very quick.
