IE6 security settings

In a circular I have just received from Web Buyer's Guide it says:

"Exploit code for a critical flaw in fully patched versions of Internet Explorer from Microsoft has been released on the Internet, putting millions of Web surfers at risk of computer hijack attempts; IE users should immediately disable Active Scripting. "

Any views on the need to disable scripting?
