I have discovered a number of things that are going wrong with IE6 on my machine. In order to reinstall IE6 afresh, do I have to remove the version that I have (complete with updates) or can I just reinstall over what I've already got. What is the best way of removing IE6 and updates if this is what I have to do? Any help is much appreciated. Thank you.

This article describes how to uninstall Microsoft Internet Explorer version 6.0 and return to your previous version of Internet Explorer. IE6 is preinstalled by default on WindowsXP. TC.

...you can use the IE6 Repair option by double clicking on IE6 in the Add/Remove programs list. TC.

If you download IE6 from its Microsoft home page it will only download the sections that are required, hence the message that the download will vary between xxMB and xxMB.

It will install itself over your current IE and save the configuration, updates, addresses etc.
