IE problem

  Astrid 08:15 14 Apr 2009

Yesterday for no apparent reason Internet Explorer, (the only browser I currently use, running Windows XP SP3) was incredibly slow, until in the end I couldn't get online at all and received a message that my system had 'locked'. On re-booting things were no better, and then my system had trouble closing down. Today, things appear to be working ok again, but I'd be grateful to know if this is something I should be worried about. Also, would it help if I did a system restore to an earlier date?

It was a bit slow for me yesterday having to refresh pages every now and then but seems to be back to normal.Maybe better downloading Firefox as a precaution just in case I/E stops completely.

I would run a system file check which will repair IE if anything has become corrupted.
Start> Run> type sfc /scannow and hit Enter (watch the space) You will need your XP CD.
