On the 5th attempt I have installed IE8, and it now works perfectly.
In case anyone else has had problems, to cure mine (It kept "Stopping Working" and very slow opening tabs)
Before I installed the update, I uninstalled IE7 Pro,Reset IE7 so there were no add ins, killed my security, and closed all other programs. It installed and works like a dream. I was really annoyed that many other forum members had no problems and I kept having to revert back to IE7

rawprawn

did you put ie7pro back afterwards or leave it out?

I left it off, I don't really think it's needed with IE8.
I think a message fashed up "Welcome to the sunrise of technology" ;))
I was so annoyed that it worked OK in W7 and not on Vista, I just had to keep trying.
