I'Ve received a email to my Inbox (Hotmail) titled 'IDG Connect Alert' which I have not opened yet. Anyone Know what this may be? I have looked on Google, but cannot seem to find out if this is a good/bad email. Even though it as come to my Inbox not My Junk box I still not sure it is safe to open.

Look at the big box at the bottom of the page.

Looks like you may have signed up to receive these email alerts - probably as part of something you downloaded. Generally the best rule is - if you don't recognise who an email is from then delete it unopened.

buteman, Does this mean its from PC Advisor? and is safe to open?

  spuds 11:16 30 Jan 2012

It is most likely from PCA, I receive them as well. But whether its safe to open, then that's another question :O)

Its been debated before about signing-up for them, some people say they did, others may have suggested that they didn't or could not remember doing so?.

It's safe to open, there is an "Unsubscrbe" link at the bottom of the page.

Same answer as spuds.

I use to get them but cannot remember how I got them to stop.

If you open the e-mail it should give you the chance to click on a part which says you do not want any more contact with e-mail provider.Wording something like that.

Then it removes you from it's list.
