IDE HD Terms

It is some time since I bought a new HD, I am confused by some of the terms used.

My Mainboard supports Ultra DMA 66/100 40 Pin IDC.

The HD that i am looking at is a Western Dig. Caviar 1600JB ATA-100

Is this a match made in heaven or not

UDMA is a sort of communication type; DMA common to all modern hard-disks. ATA is the interface type (parallel in this case). Your board supports ATA-66 and ATA-100.

Oh, and IDE is the connector type, but you probably knew that bit.
