hi, I want to get a HDD drive caddie to house the drive i took out of my desktop to use as storage, the drive has a multi pin terminal. is that known as a IDE drive...the one i am thinking of getting is this one.click herethanks
"Supports stand ard 3.5 inch IDE/EiDE HDD"If it came out of your computer it should be OK. Unlikely to be SCSI in which case you would get a SCSI start up screen on boot.
IDE drive is attached to motherboard by (usually a broad thin cable usually (though not always) with an end and a centre connector. SCSI would be connected to a PCI card.
thanks all, it did have a wide cable fitted to it.thanks again.
