Bought 2 icy box HDD caddies for back up SATA drives, but neither of them work. No LED lights, nothing. The instructions are minimalistic, but mention "power control" as part of the spec. Am I missing something incredibly obvious here (like a hidden on/off button!)

most extrnal drive caddies re for IDE drives and drives have to be set to master.

Also caddies need to be pluged into external supply.

You can buy caddies for sata drives

however the drives are not intercahangeable between the two types.

sata caddies for sata drives and ide caddies for ide drives only

Nope, its a SATA internal caddy containing a SATA drive, backing up the main SATA drive..........

Unbelievable. After months of it not working, just discovered the answer.
