How do I make the desktop icon label backgrounds transparant in Win Me.

If it is the same as win98se right click on your desktop go to properties, settings and select desktop in the drop down list and change the colour to the same as your desktop. (or any other colour you want) If it the same as your desktop it looks transparent.

I have a jpeg image set as my wall paper so just changing the colour of the desktop doesn't work. There third party software programs that allow you to change Icons to those of XP and set the labels backgrounds to transparant. Thses are however shareware and need paying for.
Surely there is a way of doing this without spending more money.

Sorry couldn't help. I have my own Logo on a dark blue background on my PC, so it was easy to make icon lables dark blue as well.

Someone will come up the answer, hopefully.
