I posted this thread a few days ago.
I want to change the icon of my usb drive. However I know how to change just on my computer. Once I plug it in to another computer it is back to normal, does anyone know how to change it permanently?

It's not it's own icon, it's an icon which individual PC's use to identify it.

do you mean i can't change it for it to stay that way?

That's not strictly true. It can be changed using an Autorun file, although, if the Autorun file is removed from the USB drive, the icon will revert to it's default icon.

Save your icon (.ico file) to your USB drive, then create an Autorun.inf file using Notepad and save that to your USB drive. Both the Autorun.inf file and (UNLESS YOU SPECIFY THE PATH)the .ico file need to be in the root of the USB drive.

For example, if the icon is called MAJ.ico, the Autorun.inf file would look like this:

If you wanted to customise it a little more, you could also rename the drive using the Autorun.inf file:

label= "PC GUY's USB Drive"
