My daughter has acquired an IBM 300PL 6892 which states that it has S3 Trio 3D SVGA graphics controller. It further states that the video memory shipped with this model is 2mb 512K X32 with 100mhz SGRAM however, all we can get at present is VGA which gives the option of two colours or 16 colours, this is insuffieicent for many programmes to load. Are we missing something or do we need an additional graphics card?

I can now answer my own question! Whilst S3 Trio 3d is installed on the IBM300PL motherboard there are no compatible Windows video driversdrivers, these have to be downloaded from the IBM website, this also applies to the Crystal audio function on the board.
