IbisCont.exe has stopped working

We are on BT home hub with several PCs in the house working fine. My sons PC will not let him get onto the internet ( or it will if I play about abit). The bar on botton right says hes connected but when he tries to log on it says IbisCont.exe has stopped working and /or internet explorer has stopped working. Some other bits and pieces also freeze and say they are not responding etc.
I have been told that there is a Ibis tool bar which can cause issues. Any suggestions for a PC novice.
BT hom hub 2,
AMD Athlon LE-1660 processor.

Here is some information about IbisCont.exe - click here - I don't know anything about PREVX3 so I can't suggest a fix.

To statrt with you could do a search on your computer to see if IBIS is installed

boot the computer in clean boot state and check if you can homegroup and printer and filesharing to work.

check if any third party applications are causing this issue.

click here to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot

once issue is resolved after performing Clean Boot, follow the steps mentioned in the above KB article.

“Reset the computer to start as usual”.
