i have found two folders on my hard drive they are very big, they have numbers before them which i am going to give first-a61581620b18b8b28bd2cec87abc86 and 63a2a3176f57e4b06556dbba. the first folder is 329 mb and the second 266 mb,when i open them they are both i386 files but the files inside are different, can anyone tell me what these are for and do i need them as i only havve a 40 gig hard drive believe it or not with xp home and sp3.

They contain the files needed to repair/install windows in case of a problem.

saves asking for the CD.

are folders left over from installs of the service packs SP2 and SP3.

they can be deleted as you do not need them.

there maybe anther i386 folder on your drive
c:\i386 or c:\windows\i386 if there is leave it alone.
