i386 - copy to HD

Please confirm for me, when copying i386 to c:\ drive, should I copy the file from the WinXP SP2 disc or the WinXP original disk.

I understand that this is a much more convenient way of using scannow?

from the WinXP SP2 , to use sfc /scannow

I should have added it simply allows scannow to run from your HDD instead of having to put your CD in when it asks.
after loading to your HDD, Type sfc /scannow in run and hit enter

I think that you should copy it from the original WINXP disc - you should also read this article on how to carry out this procedure - click here - you will find everything simply explained

ianeon's link should sort your problem.
