Before I take the plunge to socket 939

hello all

current spec

athlon 2800+
msi 6712 kt400
1 gig pc3200
seagate 7200
asus X850XT AGP

Im back on here for more advice because above all and everywhere here is the best place.

Am currently thinking about going to socket 939 and have seen a motherboard which is the ASUS(A8VDELUXE)K8T800PRO / 4XDDR400 / 2XATA133 / 4XSATA / 1X8AGP / 6.1 / GBLAN / 5PCI / 8USB / ATX.
Can anyone out there please tell me if its worthhwhile to do so.

As far as I'm aware it's a good board but what other kit will you be using? A good PC is only as good as the sum of all the parts and not just the board. Use cheap RAM and it might be a poor PC.

Tell us more about what you want to do and give us some more time (it's Sunday evening after all) and we'll see what we can do.

like gaming
possibly a 64 bit venice(not sure what speed yet)and crucial ram...

I know its sunday but wife at work and kids in bed(not alot of time otherwise) cheers

Its a good board as has been said but my concern is it doesn't have PCI Express. Perhaps you plan to use your existing graphics card?
