Hypchondria and W32Time

Browsing this forum and noticing other's problems I ran the system events in Event Viewer.

The only red errors, though they happened regularly were shown as W32Time.
In mid July this event occurred 10 times in succession, since then, usually twice. Always event # 17 or 29 alternately.

In Google this appears to be related to a W2000 procedure synchronising times inside and outside my computer.

Ignorance is bliss! My XP Pro runs happily enough and now I have seen its dark secret!

Is there something I could or should do to bannish the error?

click here may keep you amused for a while!

I suspect that this error might be an error in synchronising with an internet time server. You can change which server is used by right clicking the clock > Adjust Date/Time > Internet Time tab.

You can adjust the frequency with which the time is updated using this click here

I scanned your link briefly, and amusing (in the broadest sense) is a good description.

So, thought I, I'll give it a whirl at synchronising with Internet time via that magic right click.

Long pause. Then an error message saying it couldn't do it at this time.

I don't think I will lie awake tonight worrying about it!
