Huntsman Virus

  sibaw 10:54 31 Aug 2006

On a newly reformatted computer I installed the beta 2 Office 2007 and use outlook.

I sent a newly created word document as an attachment via hotmail and the recipiant said it had been quarantined with the Huntsman virus. I have AVG anti virus software which is up to date, windows defender, firewalls active and have run ad-ware and MS malicious software remover and they can't find the virus. Any ideas what to do next??

Hi, I can't find out what the 'huntsman' virus is, inputted to google and the only references (on the ifrst 2 pages) are for blackspider anti-virus.

Ask your friend what av software he/she is using that told him/her of the infection.

I use avast, so went to their page and searched, came back with no results. Also, searched on secunia (click here), no results, if any secunia should have come up with something.

Hope this helps.

Yes, Huntsman is heuristic virus detection from Blackspider. It is probably a false positive.
