htpatch .exe

i am contemplating upgrading my procesor om my PC.
Motherboard is MSI 648 max, the mobo manual says i can go to 2.8Ghz and up, i noticed that my lavalys system report says my mobo does not support hyperthreading processors, so i cant use the 3.06 Ghz pentium 4 northwood processor.
But, i found a patch called htpatch.exe on the windows folder, does this mean if i run this patch it will support hyperthreading? or have i missunderstood this.

Basically if you mobo and cpu support hyperthreading this may well be of use, but it will not modify either item to enable them to work in this manner.

Thanks for the link, i understand now, it is a patch for the video driver, and not to make the motherboard capable of supporting hyperthreading, makes sense now.
Thanks again.
