HP psc 950 printer problem

  fly2hi 01:00 06 Jan 2004

Does anyone else have a Hp psc 950 all-in -one.
and if so, has anyone had the repetitive 'warming up' message which hangs the printer indefinitely.
Sometimes, turning it off/on cures it, other times not. HP site suggests powering off/on should cure it, but it doesn't. Don't know how many times i've reinstalled the software, rebooted etc. Next option is likely to be a sledge hammer. Just curious as to if anyone else has had problems with this.

BTW...nearly forgot to say Hi! after a long, long absence....

How long USB cable are you using - too long and you get problems. Also worth trying a better quality cable or just a different one.

Have you tried restoring the factory defaults.
From the unit:
(1)Press "Set Up"
(2)Press 5,then press 3.
This selects the "Maintenance" menu, then select the "Restore Factory Defaults" option.
Then (in the words of the reference guide) default settings are restored.

Thanks for the tip Mollo, didn't realise this thread was still open. The HP was outed long ago and I've since gone down the Epson road which has proved less painful.

This thread is now locked and can not be replied to.
