I have an HP photosmart C4100 series printer/scanner. it suffered a paper jam and although I carefully remover the paper it still displays clear paper jam every time I switch on
Probably a small bit of paper caught somewhere near the sensor.
can't see anything but I don't know where the sensor is.
Seems a common problem with certain HP printers. Might be something to help here.Google.
Has it jammed in the past and you thought you had cleared it? I had this with an HP
worked Ok for a week then was giving the paper jam message again. I found a little bit of paper that was still in the mechanism, worth having a close look.
Don't know about the 4100 series, but on other Photosmart series (6100, 8100) you need to remove the rear access cover and get in there with a forch and a pair of twezzers!
I've had several oersistent "paper jams" where the piece concerned was less than 2mm in size.
