I have scanned a colour photo & it comes out as 125mbs file size which is obviously no good at all.

Something is not right because I re-scanned a photo originally scanned on the same machine 3 months ago & instead of just a few kbs file size, it is now also many mbs in file size.

I cannot see anything obvious to explain the situation in scan settings......any ideas anyone as I can't email 125mbs photo attachments!

Many thanks.

Chech the DPI(Dots per inch.) setting, you will probqably find it set to 300 or more, try reducing it to 96 which should be adequate for e-mails.

rotormota, just done a test pic one on 150 dpi this i found a bit to big. The other on 1200 dpi this was nearly the size of a football pitch. Suggest you reduce your dpi. If in doubt I usually view the pics in seperate graphics software..Lap..

Resolution should be set between 200 and 300 saved as jpeg
