Trying to install from the HP CD but get a warning window that says it can only be installed by the administrator, that IS me so don't see why it will not install. Is the CD incompatible with WIN 7? If I use P 'n Play the PC installs the printer and I can print but cannot see the other facilities like copy or OCR. Any ideas?

Maj. Thanks again. Didn't realise there was a scan option in Win 7. It's a sticking plaster solution from HP but it it works.......

Had the same problem with my HP.

In File Explorer right click on the "Setup.exe" file on the CD and "Run as Administrator"

You might get the "Install Using Recommended Settings" screen on your first attempt, but it works for me.

I must say that HP appear to have given up on solving any conflicts between their products and Win 7, and are even more useless than usual.

Forgot to say - this probably won't work with a downloaded updated version of the CD.

Use the CD and let the programme update itself.
