Looking to buy a Laptop - as second PC for home.

Would need it for:

Surfing web
Maybe via WiFi
Emails
Downloading Music/Films
Burning CD/DVDs

Does this fit the bill?

Further more, able to get a £40 discount from HP direct, so would be circa £325.

Not a lot of info from your link regarding the lappy Dellman.

However, its a small HDD in todays market and would not take long to fill with Movies.

I didnt see what cpu was installed either, just says core duo...but no speed relevance.

Vista basic, well i would opt for Vista Premium, and if you decide to go for Vista premium...look for a lappy with 2GB of ram.

As a cheap alternative,its ok.

specs above.

e-buyer also sell it..but i've managed to get it from HP directly for £315.

Is this a good buy?

If you can get it for £315 it looks good for the price and should do what you want.

As skidsy mentioned, movies may present your biggest problem - storage.

New games would be out though.

HP Laptop doesn't appear to include any MS Office software. Any info as to where I can best source this or any free Office type software? I take it Vista doesn't include this?

OpenOffice is free and a good alternative to MS Office

Quite a big download, but it is usually on each month's PC Advisor cover DVD which would be easier.
