How do I get rid of the 'save to web' icon generated by HP from my desktop?

I've uninstalled everything HP from add/remove programs and deleted all reference to HP in registry.

Can you not just right click and delete ?

Dont forget to run ccleaner also click here

Also try to delete it from within Safe Mode.

Thanks for your suggestions, but nothing suggested seems to work. I'll pursue it with HP.
Interesting thought though.. if you ate a pie you'd bought from Tesco and it resulted in you having TESCO indelibly stamped across your forehead.....?

What happens if you drag and drop the icon over the recycyle bin icon?

your desktop background picture? Perhaps you have an active desktop. Try changing the desktop picture and see if it disappears.
