A friend has a telephone line that was broadband enabled by a previous tenant. The tenant moved without freeing up the line. Now that my friend wishes to take up broadband they find that they cannot untill the line is freed up. The intended ISP say that they cannot do it and BT say they cannot do it unless the previous owner of the line contacts them. Catch 22 situation. Do not know and not able to cantact previous owner. I think this has been raised before but cannot find by searching. Does anyone have any idea as to how to get the line cleared? Is it an OFCOM job?
