I'm trying to speed up a PC (Win XP SP2) that at some time had "Norton Uninstall Deluxe" on it. This would have been software from around the late 90's I think. Attempts were previoulsy made to delete this, but an non-deletable Norton folder still exists in the directory. Can anyone help please? Many thanks.
What has worked for me in the past with some programs that don't want to delete is manually delete the part of program you can see, then use something like Ccleaner and part of what it can do is search for bits left over, it should identify that a large part of the program is missing and give you the opportunity to delete the rest. I have to say it does not always work but I've found it quite successful when I get stuck. I haven't heard of this particular Norton thing so cannot help with it specifically.
