I installed the Genie back-up program from the magazine disk and I do not find it to be what I need so I want to uninstall it but when I try to do so I get the message

GBM Agent is running please close it.

I get a reminder on the desk top every time I open the computer asking me to subscribe to the full version and giving me the number of days remaining.
HOW CAN I UNINSTAL THIS PROGRAN?

I cannot find how to close the GBM Agent which it says is running

If a programme is running then it should show up in task manager.
Pres Control>Alt>Delete at the same time.
Click on the processes tab
Find the GBMAgent.exe
Highlight it and click end process
This should stop it running and allow you to uninstall.

Use Safe Mode, keep tapping F8 on boot and then uninstall it in safe mode.

Alternatively use system restore to a point before you loaded it.

I have never used Genie back-up program, but some backup programs create their own partition. Check in disc management that it isn't still there after uninstalling.

Thanks for the messages and I am pleased to say that I have successfully uninstalled the program
